hello,

This is a great site. I found it a few weeks ago. I am trying to find questions on the following books: Luke, 1 Kings, Jude, Malachi, Proverbs, Romans, and Job. Please let me know if these are available and how I can retrieve them.

Thank you

Margaret

Hello Margaret,

So far this wiki contains only materials for the books studied in the Pathfinder Bible Achievement events for the last few years. The books you mention have not been included yet.

Also, the questions here are very comprehensive for the books we've studied. However, they tend to be formatted in the same way as the PBA questions will be. I don't know if that would be a good fit for your needs.

I'm curious about what you're studying for. Some of the best contributors might be willing to help you if we knew more about your goals.

With kind regards,

Thanks for your response. I am studying for the annual Bible Bowl competition. The Bible Bowl is an annual challenge event in which teams strive to demonstrate superior Bible knowledge. We first compete on the church level for a conference champion, and then for a union champion. I am with the Hyde Park SDA Church in Northeastern Conference and the books for this year are as follows:

Jude, I Kings, Luke, Malachi, Proverbs 1-15,Romans, Job

This competition is very similar to the PBA but it covers a larger group - pre junior to adults.

I first participated in this competition as a teenager and since then, while raising a family - 2 children now 10 and 15, I have started teams in 2 churches in my area and now on my third church. Both churches are now fully participating in the Bible Bowl competitions. I consider this to be my mission because I believe that our youth need a firm foundation on which to stand in the latter days and also now.

Whatever assistance I can get in writing questions to prepare our youth will be much appreciated. I can also post my questions when you get to those books.

Dear Margaret,

It is so very good to hear about others who are studying the Bible in depth. I have made up the questions for the PBA. I go through each verse sentence by sentence and take out all information from there and also look at the context of the whole verse, paragraph, and chapter to make up questions. Jude should be very easy to cover. I find that the format of having the question on one side and the answer on the other side is very helpful to the children while they are studying. They can quickly review a chapter a night. I have them go through their cards putting the ones they get right in one pile and the wrong ones in another pile. Then they have to keep going through the other cards until they get them right. They go through one chapter a night every night through the entire time they are in competition. I must say they know these chapters very well in the end. My son and daughter still can quote their chapters they studied word for word even years after they had them.

Whey is your competition? I find that I can do a chapter a day without difficulty. I think the more study materials we have for the Bible the better.

May the Lord be with you,

Cathy Berglund
